Traveling With Baby

Travel Tips:  Traveling with Baby

Choose carefully what you decide to bring to minimize baggage. You need something to transport baby, a place for baby to sleep and a car seat.

Remember the small things like outlet covers to childproof a hotel room. Garbage-bag ties can double to gather drapes and cords.

Carry on enough diapers, wipes and snacks for each child. Don’t forget extra outfits for babies and extra t-shirts for the adults!

Try to book direct flights with no layovers. Lugging around all the baby gear is time consuming and tiring. If you must have a layover, try to give yourself enough time between flights.

Bring cheap strollers for easy folding at security conveyor belts. Cheap umbrella strollers are also a good option as there is less to lose if something happens to it.

Try packing fun, kid-distracting items, like DVDs, CDs and books (both old and new). Simple things like an old purse full of random items can keep a toddler busy for hours.

Always pack a small first aid kit with necessities like a bulb syringe, thermometer and infant pain relief. Always keep your pediatrician’s phone number in your cell phone or wallet for easy access in case of an emergency.

Try going out to nice, big lunches, as opposed to fancy dinners. Lunch time is usually less crowded and the food is prepared faster, giving you less time out with a tired, cranky baby.

Remember, it’s a vacation! Try going with the flow and laughing it off. Relax and have some fun!

Hi, my name is Jake Rosario.  I'm 29 years old but I look totally young. I look like I can eat at Denny's for free or go to Disneyland for kids price. But I can't ride on any of the rides because I'm only 5 feet tall. Pretty short for a 29 year old.  But you know what they say..."Best things comes from small packages."

I was born in one of the smallest province in the Philippines.  When I was little...well...I'm still little so I should say...when I was younger, my family was struggling financially so we've always wanted to go to America.  I mean...people don't go on boats and say I want to go to Poland for opportunity. Everybody wanted to go to America because America is the "Land of Opportunity." So my dad enlisted to the Navy and years later...We moved to Carson, California.  Now back in the days when I was "younger"...Carson wasn't what it is now.  Carson wasn't a good city to live in at the time.  We would hear sirens all the time. Gangsters everywhere.  I would always get scared walking home from school.  I have to walk home during the daytime because if I walk home at night...I don't think I'd ever make it back home. We came to America...I shouldn't say poor because that's just a state of mind but we were BROKE.  We were so broke that one day a robber broke into our house and we robbed him. :)  We were broke.

I remember having posters on my wall of beer ads and Bob Marley smoking blunt.  As a kid. My first job when I was 18 was Jack in the Box. That was hard work.  Because the Jack in the Box I was working at was across the street from my high school.  So if you can imagine...gangsters everywhere fighting all the time. I got fired for hooking some of my friends up with free food.  I remember telling my boss when he fired me that I will buy my own restaurant and naming it JAKE in the Box.  That was fuuuunny!  Welcome to JAKE in the Box, would you like to try the Jumbo JAKE?

Anyway...I started moving from job to job working for different mortgage companies then Nordstrom selling womens shoes.  I was living paycheck to paycheck. I had nothing in the bank, nothing but lint in my pocket and always behind in my promises. I wasn't making the money I wanted to make. so I started looking for different opportunities.

I called my hawaiian friend Keawepoo.  We sat down one day and he introduced me to a travel company where people are saving money traveling and making a tremendous amount of money doing it.  Wow...I don't know if any of you believe in love at first sight but when my friend Keawe showed me what being in the travel business can do to your bank account...it was love at first sight.  So we started working together and in less than 1 month...we got our first check.  We kept going and going and checks just kept rolling in.  Next thing you know...it's like a snowball effect.  Once you roll a snowball down the hill, it keeps getting bigger and bigger.  So I went to my boss at Nordstrom and started rubbing my eyes.  My boss asked me, "What wrong with your eyes."  I told her, "I can't see."  She said "What do you mean you can't see?"  I said, "I CAN'T SEE...myself working here anymore." :)

Now I have a poster on my wall of the clothes I want to wear, Places I want to visit, Cars I want to drive, House I want to live in, Money I want to make, and the girl I want to be with. (Jessica Alba) :) Now I wake up when i finished sleeping, I walk 2 feet to my office and not worry about traffic jam in the hallways, work for about 2 hours on the internet, then take the rest of the day off.  I could be at the beach. I could be playing golf...and I'm making money.  I could go to Hawaii and if I want to stay there longer...I don't have to call my boss for more time off.

Not only you can save money on traveling but by having your own travel business...you can make a lot of money.  Robert Kiyosaki who wrote "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" said "The number 1 thing people can do to increase their wealth is to start a part-time business." We want to teach you how to make money having your own travel company so you can start living your dream.

It all starts in the B.E.A.R philosophy. It starts with Belief. Believe in the industry, believe in the company, and believe that you can do it. If a short filipino guy can do it...anybody can do it. Then once you start believing, your belief will turn into Excitement, You're gonna be very excited because you're gonna have fun and learn while having fun.  Then your excitement will turn into action. Albert Einstein says that knowledge is not power unless you take Action. When you take action...you will get Results. When you get results...you'll Believe more. Then you'll get more Excited. Then You'll take more Action. Then you'll have more Results. It just keeps cycling. But it starts with...BELIEF.  Click here for more information.

Just like with adults, you want to find the best match in a cruise for the kids. Some cruise lines specialize in programs for children to draw lots of families. Other lines are better for the adult crowd. You'll have to do some research to find the best cruise line for your kids. Some cruise cines will have more for small children, while others will cover the full range of ages. Use the questions below as a guide to help you find the best cruise for your children.

  • Do the cruise line's brochures and web pages look as if they were designed to attract families?

  • Do you see items on the ship's menu your child will enjoy eating?

  • Do they have a children's menu available at each meal?

  • What types of activities do they have planned for children?

  • Will the special services and events for children be available whenever I wish to cruise or are they limited to a certain time of the year?

  • Does the ship have a pool just for children?

  • Will they show any movies or have special entertainment appropriate for children?

  • Will you visit any ports of call your children will find interesting?

  • Do they have any shore excursions designed to be fun for kids?

  • What types of discount programs are available for children?

  • How old can my children be and still be eligible for the children's discount?

  • Are discounts available for the 3rd and 4th passengers in my cabin?

  • Are cots or cribs available?

  • Can I book adjoining cabins?

  • What is the minimum age limit for a passenger?

  • Does the ship have a dedicated child care center or playroom?

  • Does the ship have a dedicated teen center?

Unless you hit the jackpot at the slots, or betting on your favorite team, you might be looking for ways to save money on your next trip to Vegas.  Here are some ideas to get you started.  Here's a list of our favorite ways to spend time and save money in Las Vegas.

    1.  Fremont Street Experience:  Head downtown for this hourly light-and-sound show near some of Vegas' oldest casinos.  Glitter is everywhere here, as millions of neon lights illuminate the heart of downtown Vegas.

    2.  Fountains at the Bellagio:  What's not to love about water that dances in time to music?  The choreographed display starts every 30 minutes starting in the afternoon, then every 15 minutes in the evening.

    3.  Lion Habitat at MGM Grand:  You can see majestic felines aat the MGM Grand, where the lions can be found batting around their big red rubber ball or chewing on a rawhide bone.  The famous lion that roared at the beginning of an MGM film was the first lion to live here, and now the "pride" has grown to 38; half a dozen lions are on view from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.  each day.

    4.  Aquarium at the Mirage:  This huge tank - measuring 53 feet long, 8 feet from top to bottom, and 6 feet from front to back - underwent recent technological improvements and now can support up to 1,000 coral reef fish.  See how many species you can spot; there are at least 60 species from places like Australia,  Hawaii, the Red Sea and the Caribbean.

    5.  The Conservatory at the Bellagio:  It takes 140 horticulturists to stay on top of all the plants, flowers and shrubs on display in this hotel's indoor garden.  The result is a blooming oasis that gets extra special treatment - and a profusion of themed arrangements - for holidays.

    6.  Circus acts:  Catch juggling, contortionists, balancing acts, human pyramids and other circus acts under the big top at Circus Circus.  Shows are performed daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.

    7.  Ethel M Chocolate Factory:  Have you ever wanted to see what a 35,000 gallon tank of chocolate looks like?  See for yourself on the self-guided tour of Ethel M's Chocolate Factory in Henderson, Nevada.  Tours run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Both the tour and the samples along the way are free.

    8.  Stroll throught the Farmers Market:  If you're in Herderson on a Thursday, stop by the Galleria Mall to see what's fresh from the fields at the Farmers Market.  Local produce and creative crafts are on display from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

    9.  The Sirens of TI:  The cove at the entrancce of the Treasure Island hotel is the setting for this pseudo-17th-century battle.  The sirens are scantily clad, the pirates get lured into a stormy tempest and drama - often in the form of pyrotechnics - ensues.  The show runs every 90 minutes starting at 7 p.m.

    10.  Watch a volcano erupts:  This perennially popular attraction at the MGM Mirage closed in February 2008 for renovation, but is expected to open again late in 2008.

    11.  Wildlife Habitat:  Step into a tropical rain forest at the Flamingo, where you can see lush foliage, waterfalls and hundreds of birds.  Don't miss the penguin feeding twice a day at 8:25 a.m. and 2:55 p.m.
